Bhushan Gavai is the new Chief Justice of India. We have 51 Chief Justices till the date and Bhushan Gavai is the second justice with Scheduled Caste background. Earlier, this post was held by K G Balkrishanan. This is a great moment for all of us that justice with a deprived background is holding the top most post in judiciary. In the last few years, such welcome signs are seen, which are indicative of changing social dynamics. This needs to be welcomed.
