During 2022, the Social Studies Foundation (SSF) organized five one day conferences in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Calcutta & Lucknow under the theme “Scheduled Castes in Independent India: Present and Future”, with active participation from 315 Professors, Assistant Professors, and Research Scholars (male and female, all below 45 years) from Scheduled Castes . A key demand emerging from these conferences was that SSF should initiate awareness programs for SC students regarding scholarships and schemes offered by the Central and State Governments to pursue higher studies abroad.
To achieve this, a dedicated team was formed to compile information on National and State Overseas Scholarships, as well as scholarships provided by corporates and philanthropic foundations. Since February 2025, SSF has organized 11 workshops across India, delivering crucial guidance on government sponsored, private, and international scholarships, along with essential soft skills training for global education aspirants from marginalized backgrounds in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat states in collaboration with different colleges, universities and organisations.
