The Social Studies Foundation hosted an academic panel discussion titled “Reflections on Caste and Race” coinciding with the publication of its e‑book. The dialogue brought together diverse voices: Dr. Girish Makwana, an Australian‑Indian filmmaker; Dr. Lavanya Vemsani, Professor of History in the Department of Social Studies at Shawnee State University, Ohio; and Shri Milind Kamble, Padmashree Awardee and Founder Chairman of DICCI. The session was presided over by Shri Upendra Baghel, IPS and Investigations Officer with the United Nations. Collectively, the panel examined intersections of caste and race, highlighting comparative frameworks of exclusion and inclusion, and underscoring the need for global solidarity in dismantling entrenched hierarchies.
